Armenian citizens will be able to visit the UAE without visas

A visa-free regime for Armenian citizens will come into force in the Emirates.

Armenian citizens will be able to visit the United Arab Emirates without having to obtain entry visas. Corresponding changes were made in “Memorandum of Understanding between the Governments of Armenia and the UAE on exemption of individuals with diplomatic passports from the requirement of entry visas” dated June 21, 2009.

Armenian citizens will be provided with free entry to the UAE, which will not only increase the flow of tourists but also strengthen economic and business ties as well as enhance international and intercultural relations.

UAE is the first trade partner of Armenia in the region and the volume of bilateral trade and investments from UAE to Armenia is permanently increasing. Tourism develops noticeably, the number of direct flights between Yerevan and UAE cities increases. The two countries effectively cooperate in international organizations.

In the summer of 2022 a visa-free regime between the United Arab Emirates and Georgia came into force. Holders of ordinary passports of both countries can enter without a visa, transit through and stay on the territory of the state of the other side for no more than 90 days from the date of entry.

The visa-free regime was introduced under a memorandum of understanding between the governments of Georgia and the UAE. It is worth noting that Tbilisi and Abu Dhabi agreed to introduce a short-term visa-free regime in March 2022. Earlier Georgian citizens could enter the UAE only with diplomatic and service passports.

Tourists arriving in the United Arab Emirates no longer need to present a certificate of vaccination or negative PCR test results to board a flight. At the same time, passengers traveling with a stopover in Dubai must follow the requirements of their final destinations.
